Get to know Northwest Coast

The Northwest Coast is one of the six comarcas of the province of Cádiz, in Andalusia. It borders the Atlantic Ocean, the Guadalquivir river and the comarcas of Bahía de Cádiz, Campiña de Jerez and Bajo Guadalquivir. Its territory almost exactly matches the old Lordship of Sanlúcar, held by the House of Medina-Sidonia.

The city of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the towns of Rota, Chipiona and Trebujena and the Costa Ballena development make up the comarca. Part of Sanlúcar and Trebujena lies in the Guadalquivir marshes. Sanlúcar also holds the Algaida pine forest and the Bonanza marshes, part of Doñana Natural Park.
