Get to know Monzón

Monzón is a city in the province of Huesca, Aragon, capital of the Cinca Medio comarca and co-seat of the Diocese of Barbastro-Monzón. It is the second largest city in the province and the sixth in Aragon. Thanks to the Aragon and Catalonia Canal it is one of Aragon's main farming and industrial towns.

The city lies at the confluence of the Cinca and Sosa rivers, in the east of the province, and the municipality also includes Selgua and Conchel. The area has been inhabited since the Neolithic, and the railway brought an industrial boom from the mid-nineteenth century. The main festivities fall in the week of Saint Matthew's Day, 21 September.
