Get to know Moaña

Moaña is a municipality in the south of the Morrazo comarca, in the province of Pontevedra, on the peninsula between the Ría de Vigo and the Ría de Pontevedra. The Ría de Vigo separates it from the city, and many people cross every day by ferry, especially from the port of Domaio. Life here has always turned to the sea, and the Interceltic Festival of Morrazo is its best-known event.

The municipality takes in the parishes of Moaña, Tirán and Domaio, among others. Monte Faro de Domaio, the highest point of the Morrazo, rises here, and the coast has beaches such as Domaio, A Borna, A Xunqueira and Blue Flag O Con. From the Strait of Rande, where the Rande Bridge links it to Redondela, the shore opens onto calm waters with mussel farms.
