Get to know Marín

Marín is a town and municipality in the comarca of O Morrazo, in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, on the southern shore of the ria of Pontevedra. Since 1943 it has hosted the Escuela Naval Militar, where officers of the Spanish Navy are trained. Its fishing port ranks among the most important in Galicia.

The municipality is made up of the parishes of Santa María del Puerto, San Julián de Marín, Seijo, Ardán, Santo Tomé de Piñeiro, Mogor and Campo. Mogor holds the Labyrinths of Mogor, prehistoric rock carvings. Stone crosses, hórreo granaries and houses built by returning emigrants dot the rural parishes.
