Get to know Manzanares

Manzanares is a town in the province of Ciudad Real, in Castilla-La Mancha. It lies in the natural region of La Mancha, on the edge of the historic Campo de Calatrava. The Order of Calatrava founded it in the mid-thirteenth century, and it became one of the order's most prosperous estates.

Its position where north-south and east-west routes meet earned it the name of the crossroads of La Mancha. The town sits on the banks of the river Azuer, next to the A-4 motorway. Its wine industry has been well known for centuries.
