Totalán is a neighborhood in the Carretera de Cádiz district of Malaga. It was the first neighborhood in the city designed for workers, and the first industrial chimneys of nineteenth-century Malaga rose there.
It takes its name from the industrialist Eduardo Huelin Reissig, who built the first homes beside the La Constancia ironworks. To the north it borders La Princesa, and to the east the sea. Today it keeps much of its seafaring and popular character.
