Las Castañetas is a neighbourhood on the outskirts of Málaga, in the Campanillas district, very close to the bank of the Guadalhorce river. It is a settlement cut off from the rest, surrounded by orchards, a short distance from the Campanillas station and Santa Águeda neighbourhoods.
A public school, the C.E.I.P Cupiana, is nearby, and once a week a mobile library bus arrives with books and films. The neighbourhood also has a social centre with a library and internet access, and it is affected by noise from Málaga-Costa del Sol airport. It is one of the neighbourhoods where the Verdiales festival is held.
