Majadahonda is a municipality in the Community of Madrid, northwest of the capital and part of its metropolitan area. The land was once used for farming and grazing. During the Civil War it saw heavy fighting in the battle for Madrid.

The town has grown fast and now offers plenty of services and service-sector businesses. The Puerta de Hierro public university hospital moved here into a new medical complex. Its neighbours are Las Rozas, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Boadilla del Monte, Villanueva de la Cañada and Villanueva del Pardillo.
