Get to know Madrid

Madrid is the capital and largest city of Spain and of the Community of Madrid. It lies on the River Manzanares in the centre of the Iberian Peninsula. As the political, economic and cultural centre of the country, it has been the permanent seat of the court since 1561.

Arganzuela, Usera, Latina, Moncloa-Aravaca, Hortaleza, Barajas, Villa de Vallecas and Fuencarral-El Pardo are among its districts. The city hosts fairs such as FITUR and ARCO. Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid both play here.
