Hortaleza is one of the 21 districts of the city of Madrid, Spain. It lies in the north-east of the municipality and covers the former municipality of Hortaleza and part of Canillas, both annexed to the capital in 1949.
Its parts are Valdefuentes, Piovera, Pinar del Rey, Canillas, Apóstol Santiago and Palomas. The historic centre of the Villa de Hortaleza is in the Pinar del Rey neighbourhood. It borders Barajas, San Blas-Canillejas, Ciudad Lineal and Fuencarral-El Pardo, and to the north the municipality of Alcobendas.
