Get to know Lower Empordà

Lower Empordà is a comarca in the Girona region of Catalonia, and its capital is La Bisbal d'Empordà. It was created in 1936, when the Empordà was split into two comarques, the other being Alt Empordà. It is popularly known as L'Empordanet, the Little Empordà.

Its coastline is part of the Costa Brava. Among its municipalities are Palafrugell, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Palamós, Castell-Platja d'Aro i s'Agaró, Calonge, Santa Cristina d'Aro and Torroella de Montgrí.
