Get to know Logroño

Logroño is the capital of La Rioja and its largest town, home to nearly half of the region's people and its economic, cultural and service centre. In the Middle Ages its borders were disputed between the kingdoms of Castile, Navarre and Aragon. It was the first Spanish Capital of Gastronomy and has also been a European City of Sport.

Most of the city lies on the right, southern bank of the Ebro, and the Camino de Santiago passes through it. It is a centre of trade for Rioja wine and of the manufacture of wood, metal and textile products.
