Llagostera is a municipality in the Gironès comarca, province of Girona, and the largest by area in the comarca. It lies 20 km south of Girona and 15 km from the Mediterranean, on the route to the Costa Brava. During the twentieth century it was known for making cork and cork goods.
Most people live in the town itself, around the Gothic church of Sant Feliu on a hilltop. The Gavarres rise to the north and the Cadiretes to the south, covered in cork oak, oak and pine forest. The old narrow gauge railway to Girona and Sant Feliu de Guíxols is now a greenway.
