Get to know La Orotava

La Orotava is a town and municipality in the north of Tenerife, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands. It is the largest municipality on the island and stretches from the north coast to the summit of Teide, Spain's highest point. The historic centre was declared a Conjunto histórico in 1976.

The town itself sits in the Orotava Valley near the north coast, southeast of Puerto de la Cruz. Much of Teide National Park lies within the municipality, and the TF-5 motorway crosses its north. The valley also gives its name to the Valle de La Orotava wine denomination.
