La Aldea de San Nicolás is the westernmost municipality of the island of Gran Canaria, in the province of Las Palmas, in the Canary Islands. Until 2005 its name was San Nicolás de Tolentino, and locals simply call it La Aldea. It lies about 38 km southwest of Las Palmas.

It sits among forested mountain valleys overlooking the Atlantic. Many families work on tomato farms and grow potatoes and other vegetables and fruits, irrigated by reservoirs that collect winter rain. The municipality includes settlements such as Casco, La Playa, El Hoyo, Tasarte, Tasartico, Artejevez and Los Espinos.
