Get to know el Gornal

El Gornal, or simply Gornal, is a neighborhood of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat in the Barcelonès comarca, province of Barcelona. It belongs to District VI together with Bellvitge, which it borders, and it also adjoins Santa Eulàlia. It grew out of Bellvitge's expansion onto empty land beside the railway lines.

From the 1970s apartment blocks for low-income households were built here. The Civic Center opened in 1991, and the Mercat de Gornal, with its commercial galleries, in 1994. Granvia has a landscaped promenade with a bike path along its whole length.
