Jumilla is a town in the north of the Region of Murcia, in the Altiplano comarca, close to Cieza and Yecla. People have lived here since the Lower Palaeolithic. Its wine festival in August is listed as being of national tourist interest.
The municipality is very large, about 972 km², and borders the Vinalopó Mitjà in the Valencian Community. It includes hamlets such as l'Alberquilla, la Canyada del Trigo and la Torre del Rico, and its best-known dish is gazpacho jumillano.
