Get to know Jávea

Xàbia, Jávea in Spanish, is a coastal town and municipality in the comarca of Marina Alta, on the north coast of the province of Alicante. It sits on the side of the Montgó Massif, behind a wide bay sheltered between two rocky headlands. Its cliffs, small beaches and clear sea have drawn many Europeans, and half of its residents are foreigners.

The town has two traditional centres: the historic old town, founded in the fourteenth century, and Duanes de la Mar, also called the Port. L'Arenal grew up later by the beach of the same name and is now the main tourist area.
