Get to know Irun

Irun is a town in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country, separated from France by the Bidasoa river. It is the second most populous city in Gipuzkoa after San Sebastián. Together with Hendaye and Hondarribia it forms the urban area of Txingudi Bay.

Its main neighbourhoods are San Miguel, Anaca, Bidasoa, Meaca, Ventas, Behobia, Olaverría and Lapice. Being on the border makes it a key hub for trade, rail, road and logistics. The most notable industry in town is the train maker CAF.
