Get to know Ibiza

Ibiza is the capital of the island of the same name in the Balearic Islands, on its southeast coast. It is the smallest municipality on the island and also the most populous, and it is home to the Island Council. Its port, in a natural bay, is with the airport the main gateway to the whole island.

The city has two parts: Dalt Vila, the fortified old town on the hilltop crowned by the cathedral of Santa Maria, and the Eixample, the newer town. Its neighbourhoods include Can Misses, Passeig Maritim, Can Serres, Puig des Molins, Can Bufí, Ca Les Ànimes, es Prat de Vila and la Punta. Puig des Molins also holds a Punic necropolis.
