Hoyo de Manzanares is a municipality of the Community of Madrid, in its northwest and south of the Sierra de Guadarrama. The whole municipality lies inside the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares Regional Park.
It has five settlements: the historic village, Ciudad Residencial La Berzosa, Urbanización Parque de Las Colinas, the colony of El Berzalejo and the Academia de Ingenieros del Ejército. The M-618 road links it with Torrelodones and Colmenar Viejo. The population grows in summer, when families with summer houses arrive.
