Gurb is a municipality in the comarca of Osona, in the province of Barcelona, on the Plana de Vic and bordering the Lluçanès. It has 2741 inhabitants (INE 2025). Its first written mention dates from the end of the ninth century.
The municipal capital is the village of l'Esperança, close to Vic, and much of the population lives in scattered farmhouses. It is made up of four parishes: Sant Andreu de Gurb, Sant Cristòfol de Vespella, Sant Julià Sassorba and Sant Esteve de Granollers de la Plana. Industry has grown here, with companies such as Casa Tarradellas.
