Getaria is a coastal town in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country, on the Urola coast. It borders Zarautz to the east and Zumaia to the west and has 2887 inhabitants (2025).

It is the hometown of Juan Sebastián Elcano, the first to sail around the world, and of the fashion designer Cristóbal Balenciaga, who has a museum here. Its restaurants serving grilled fish and its Getariako Txakolina, a white wine with a Denomination of Origin, are well known.
