Sacromonte is a neighborhood in the east of Granada, one of the six neighborhoods of the Albayzín district. It borders Albayzín, San Pedro, Realejo-San Matías, El Fargue and Haza Grande.
It lies in the Valparaíso valley opposite the Alhambra, on both banks of the Darro river. Traditionally it was home to Granada's Romani community, who lived in cave houses, and Federico García Lorca portrayed them in his book Romancero Gitano.
