Albaicín, also spelled Albayzín, is a neighborhood of Granada, Spain. It is built around a hill on the north bank of the Darro river, which crosses the city. It is known for its historic monuments.
It largely keeps its medieval street plan from the Nasrid period. After the Reconquista it changed a great deal, physically and demographically, and it is a World Heritage Site as an extension of the nearby Alhambra.
