Garrotxa is a pre-Pyrenean comarca in the province of Girona, Catalonia, roughly matching the historical County of Besalú. More than half of its people live in the capital, Olot. Upper Garrotxa has narrow, deep valleys between high cliffs, while Lower Garrotxa is gentle and green, its valleys flattened by volcanic activity.

Its municipalities include Olot, Vall de Bas, San Juan les Fonts, Besalú, Las Presas, Les Planes d'Hostoles, San Feliu de Pallarols and Santa Pau. The Garrotxa Volcanic Zone natural park holds dozens of volcanic cones. Rain is plentiful, and the comarca is dotted with medieval villages, Romanesque hermitages and Roman roads.
