La Frontera is a municipality in the west of the island of El Hierro, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on the Atlantic shore. It is the westernmost municipality in Spain. It borders Valverde and El Pinar, which used to be part of La Frontera.
Its largest village is Tigaday, with Los Llanillos, Las Puntas and Sabinosa nearby, all in the El Golfo valley. The municipality is home to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Kings, patron saint of El Hierro.
