Fontanals de Cerdanya is a municipality in the Cerdanya county, in Catalonia. It was formed in 1969 by merging the former municipalities of Queixans and Urtx, and the town hall sits in the village of Vilar d'Urtx.

Among its churches are Sant Martí d'Urtx, in Romanesque style, and Santa Eulàlia d'Estoll, which was consecrated in the year 913. Josep Pla described here a sense of breadth, elevation and freedom.
