Get to know Estepona

Estepona is a town in the Costa del Sol Occidental comarca, in the southwest of the province of Málaga, Andalusia. A popular year-round resort, it has a carefully kept white-walled centre with many shops and picturesque squares. Its closeness to the Strait made it the scene of naval battles, and in the Middle Ages it was frontier land.

The municipality runs along a long coast of beaches and climbs into a fertile valley crossed by streams, up to the Sierra Bermeja and the peak of Los Reales. A modern marina is lined with tapas bars and restaurants, and two beaches fly the Blue Flag. Local farms grow citrus and tropical fruit, and fishing carries on.
