Es Castell, once called Villacarlos, is a municipality of the Balearic Islands in the east of Menorca, at the mouth of Mahón harbour. Its position makes it the first town in Spain to see the sun rise.

The municipality takes in Es Castell, its capital, along with Bello Horizonte, Cala Sant Esteve, El Fonduco, Santa Anna, Sínia d'en Riera, Sol d'Est and Trebalúger. The British founded the main settlement in 1771 as Georgetown, and in 1782 it became the Real Villa de San Carlos.
