Get to know El Ejido

El Ejido is a town and municipality in the province of Almería, Andalusia, in the south-central part of the Poniente Almeriense comarca. It is the third most populous town in the province after the capital and Roquetas de Mar. Its greenhouses make it the centre of fruit and vegetable production in the Poniente, drawing many farm workers from abroad.

The municipality reaches down to the sea and takes in several villages, including Almerimar, Santa María del Águila, Las Norias de Daza, Balerma and San Agustín. On the coast, Almerimar is a popular place for tourism and relaxation. Neighbours are Roquetas de Mar, La Mojonera, Vícar, Dalías and Balanegra.
