Get to know el Campello

El Campello is a coastal town and municipality in the comarca of L'Alacantí, province of Alicante. It forms a conurbation with Alicante, San Vicente del Raspeig, San Juan de Alicante and Muchamiel, and tourism is central to its economy. Every October it holds its Moors and Christians festival, with mock battles using arquebuses, parades and late-night fireworks.

The town centre is 13 km northeast of Alicante, a 20-minute tram ride away. There are several Mediterranean beaches, a busy marina and a fish market. A sixteenth-century watchtower overlooks the harbour.
