Congosto is a municipality in the province of León, in the comarca of El Bierzo. It is one of the Bierzo municipalities where Leonese is also spoken alongside Spanish.

Its economy was traditionally based on farming, wine and coal mining. Today most residents work in wind turbine manufacturing or in coal mining nearby, and in summer many visitors come to the Barcena reservoir close to the village.
