Get to know Comillas

Comillas is a municipality in the autonomous community of Cantabria. It lies on the western coast of Cantabria. The Cantabrian Sea is to the north, Udías to the south, Ruiloba and Alfoz de Lloredo to the east and Valdáliga to the west.

El Capricho, one of Gaudí's first works, stands here, and modernist buildings are all over town. The Comillas Pontifical University was based here before moving to Madrid, which earned the town the name of the town of the archbishops.
