Get to know Cieza

Cieza is a town in the Region of Murcia, the capital of the Vega Alta del Segura comarca and the natural northern gateway to the region along the A-30. Irrigated farming shapes the local economy, from peaches and olives to citrus and vegetables, and Cieza peaches enjoy an international reputation. Holy Week and the San Bartolomé festivities are its best-known celebrations.

The Segura river runs past the town, and summers here are very hot. Rock paintings, Iberian settlements and Roman remains have been found in the municipality. Below the castle lies the Muslim site of Siyasa, with a permanent exhibition in the town museum.
