Get to know Chiclana de la Frontera

Chiclana de la Frontera is a town in the Bahía de Cádiz comarca, in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia, near the Gulf of Cádiz. Finds on the Cerro del Castillo show that the Phoenicians lived here, and the Nueva Gadeira site now presents them to visitors. The present town centre dates from the eighteenth century.

Its areas include San Andrés and Novo Sancti Petri, the resort with the most hotel beds in the province and on the whole Costa de la Luz. Here you find Playa de la Barrosa and the golf courses that, along with modern industry, keep the local economy going. San Fernando and Puerto Real lie to the north, and Conil de la Frontera along the coast to the south.
