Castellbisbal is a municipality in the comarca of Vallès Occidental, in the province of Barcelona. It lies on the left bank of the Llobregat river, at its confluence with the Rubí river.
Its name comes from the union of the words castle and bishop. The remains of the castle are visible on a hill near the urban centre, and the Pont del Diable, with its triumphal arch, shows the historical importance of the town on the Via Augusta. The parish church of Sant Vincenç dates from the sixteenth century, and a Romanesque chapel from the twelfth stands in Can Pederol de Baix.
