Get to know Carmona

Carmona is a town in the province of Seville, in Andalusia, north-east of the provincial capital. It belongs to the Campiña de Carmona comarca and, by geography, to Los Alcores as well. The Romans called it Carmo and the Arabs Qarmuna.

The old town sits on a ridge overlooking the plain of the Corbones river. Both main gates of its walls, the Seville and Córdoba gates, are Roman. The municipality is very large, and farming is its mainstay.
