Cariño is a municipality in the Ortegal comarca, in the province of A Coruña, Galicia. It lies at the northern end of the province, on the western shore of the Ortigueira inlet, with the Capelada mountains to the west. It separated from the municipality of Ortigueira in 1988.

It is made up of five parishes: Cariño, the capital, Santa María de Piedra, San Pedro de Feás, Santiago de Landoi and San Esteban de Sismundi. Cape Ortegal is its best-known landmark. The Vixía de Herbeira cliffs, the highest in Spain, and the Route of the Viewpoints also stand out.
