Canillas de Aceituno is a municipality in Andalusia, in the province of Málaga and the comarca of La Axarquía. It lies in the east of the province and belongs to the judicial district of Vélez-Málaga.

In 2025 it had 1801 inhabitants, spread over an area of 42 km². It stands at around 524 m, at the foot of the Sierra de Tejeda, crowned by the peak of La Maroma at 2068 m, the highest in the province. Its streets are narrow and spotlessly whitewashed, with Mudejar arches and corners full of flowers. Shops sell everyday basics, Málaga is 61 km away, and from Vélez-Málaga you arrive by the M-125 and the C-335.
