The comarca at the southern tip of Andalusia, around the Bay of Algeciras, named after the Rock of Gibraltar.

Get to know Campo de Gibraltar

Campo de Gibraltar is one of the six comarcas of the province of Cádiz, at the southern end of Andalusia and of mainland Europe. Until 1704 it was simply the municipal territory of Gibraltar. After the capture of Gibraltar in the War of the Spanish Succession, its inhabitants settled nearby and founded Algeciras, San Roque and Los Barrios.

Algeciras, Los Barrios, La Línea de la Concepción and San Roque curve around the Bay of Algeciras. Tarifa faces mainly the Atlantic, while Castellar de la Frontera, Jimena de la Frontera and San Martín del Tesorillo lie inland. It is one of the comarcas of Andalusia with the strongest identity of its own.
