Cartagena, Torre-Pacheco, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, La Unión, Los Alcázares and Fuente Álamo de Murcia form the comarca. Along the coast lie the Calblanque natural park, the salt flats and dunes of San Pedro del Pinatar and the Mar Menor. Its waters include the Cabo de Palos and Islas Hormigas marine reserve.
