Bustarviejo is a municipality in the Community of Madrid, in the Sierra Norte comarca. It sits on the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama, on its southern side. Beside the mountains, in a lush valley, it lies about 60 km from Madrid.

It was rediscovered as a summer retreat and kept the character of a mountain village. Over the years, chalets and flats were built, mostly as second homes. It borders Miraflores de la Sierra, Canencia, Garganta de los Montes, Valdemanco, Navalafuente and Guadalix de la Sierra.
