Get to know Bunyol

Buñol lies inland in the province of Valencia, in the comarca of La Hoya de Buñol, west of the city of Valencia. The town grew up around its castle in Muslim times. Industry has stayed strong here since the railway boosted the local paper mills.

Houses line the Buñol River, framed by the Sierra de las Cabrillas, the Sierra de Dos Aguas and the Sierra de Malacara y Martés. Renfe regional trains run to Valencia, and Levante UD has its training grounds near the town. Alongside the castle stand the church of San Pedro and the hermitage of San Luis Beltrán, and like many Valencian towns Buñol celebrates the Fallas.
