Breña Alta is a municipality on the eastern side of the island of La Palma, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. It stretches from the Cumbre Nueva ridge to the Atlantic Ocean. The municipal office is in the town of San Pedro.

It borders Santa Cruz de La Palma. Within its boundaries are the Hospital Universitario de La Palma, a fishing port and an artificial beach at Bajamar. Its neighbourhoods are San Pedro, Breña (San Isidro), Las Ledas, Buenavista de Arriba, Buenavista de Abajo, Botazo, Miranda, El Llanito and La Cuesta. The municipality is known for its tobacco, and it has a zoo called Maroparque.
