Blanca is a municipality in the Region of Murcia, in the Ricote Valley. It lies in the comarca of Vega Alta del Segura. Abarán lies to the north, Ulea and Ojós to the south, Molina de Segura and Fortuna to the east, and Ricote to the west.

Until the fourteenth century it was known as Negra, for the large limestone rock of that colour that stands above the village. The last expulsion of the Murcian Moriscos took place here in 1615, and today Blanca keeps one of the best preserved historic centres of Arab origin. For many years it was a leading source of fruit exports to Europe, and painters such as Pedro Cano, Luis Molina and Raúl Box were born here.
