Casco Viejo, also known as Las Siete Calles, is the oldest neighborhood of Bilbao and its original core. It belongs to the Ibaiondo district in Vizcaya province.
The Basque name is Zazpikaleak, meaning seven streets. The Cathedral of Santiago and the churches of San Antón, San Nicolás and Santos Juanes stand here, and the walled town existed until the end of the nineteenth century.
