La Verneda i la Pau is a neighborhood of the Sant Martí district in northern Barcelona, bordering Sant Adrià de Besòs. It is where the old village of Sant Martí de Provençals began, with settlers documented from 989.
The current neighborhood arose in the 1950s to meet a huge demand for housing, with dense buildings and few services. Residents' campaigns improved it over the years. Only one metro station, La Pau, lies within its limits. In 2021 it had 28,798 residents.
