Get to know Can Peguera

Can Peguera is a neighborhood in the Nou Barris district of Barcelona, between Turó de la Peira and La Guineueta. It was developed in the early 20th century as affordable housing for workers, with single-storey houses known as cases barates, or cheap houses.

The name comes from the Can Peguera farmhouse, known for making glue from the resin of the nearby pine forest. The San Francisco Javier church, the former chapel of the farmhouse, is still here, in a rustic style.
