Get to know l'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample

L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample is a neighborhood of the Eixample district of Barcelona. Until 2006 it formed one neighborhood together with La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample, and then it was divided administratively in two. It is home to the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, founded in 1906, and the Basilica of Sant Josep Oriol, built between 1915 and 1930.

At its southern end are the Seminari Conciliar de Barcelona and the historic building of the University of Barcelona, on Plaça de la Universitat. The Mercat del Ninot is also here.
